Viability: The game is playable from start to end, with clear mechanics and well designed levels. The next iteration of a game like this would add clearer feedback for when you get hit, and at least a jumping animation.  Other quick, simple fixes include choosing the option"orient to direction" in the enemy patrol script, to make the snakes turn around, and making a separate jumping box for the bottom for the character vs the rest of the body, to prevent the issue of sticky walls. Having said all of that, this accomplishes a lot with the time we had, so good job!

Presentation: Beautiful graphics, clean user interface, and hauntingly atmospheric soundtrack. It is impressive how far you both were able to create a sense of world building through art and mechanics. I just want to hang out here longer!

Theme: Very much in line with virtual world themes, for me this game is all about the excitement and apprehension of exploring virtual worlds. Having friendly npcs as collectables is an economic and effective way to create momentum, and the final scene serves as a visual reward.

Engagement: I had fun navigating the level design and exploring he world. I think this fulfills the assignment completely and then some. Yet, I hope you both consider going back to it and adding a few quality of life elements, and specially, more levels to explore. Good job!

This game is so sweet! The art is both cute and creepy- very realized. The audio compliments the spooky art direction very nicely, and adds a ton to the atmosphere. The level design is simple and sweet, though the glitch others mentioned of not being able to jump made it tricky at some points. I was able to get around it though, and it wasn't extremely detrimental to the experience. Awesome job you two! :3

Viability: Not too sure if it's my keyboard, at times when I jump into a wall for some reason I can't jump anymore. But overall playable, the space between platforms are realistic but still give players a little bit of challenge through implementation of glow effect and dangerous obstacles.

Presentation: The art is really cool! The choice of using monochrome really pop that light and shadow relationship, and also gave it a retro vibe. The background music is very soothing and atmospheric, allows the player to really experience what it feels like to be surrounded by the forest at night. Again love the art ;0;

Theme: A very cute and light-hearted concept of finding fur friends in the dark, and is well presented  through the level design and art/music. It's interesting how you made the cat, which is often depicted as timid, being the one out there looking for all its friends in the dark.

Engagement: The limited vision really kept players on their toes to avoid the thorny vines and moving snakes.

Other Comments: You had the lanterns have the ability to switch on/off, I wish there was more utilization to that. Otherwise it could've been on the whole time and it wouldn't have made any difference. Maybe when it's on it'll attract monsters (or anything that could do harm) towards you, so you have to turn it off when it's running to the player to stay safe.

Overall a great game! Looking forward to see more games.

There's a strange glitch where I can't jump sometimes so that was a little frustrating but I'm not sure how easy of a fix it is. The game is beautiful and I really like the little animation. I'm not really sure what the story is or what the little bunny character represents though. It might benefit from some dialogue. - Mimi and Heather

Viability- A simple enough platformer. There were some bits where I was trapped near some thorns and unable to jump. A restart button would have been nice, I had to refresh the page to start over after failures.

Presentation- Really the most impressive bit in my opinion. The aesthetic is lovely, the play with light and shadow is very striking. Anthropomorphic animal designs are solid and effective. Parallax scrolling works well. Would have liked a walking animation but am impressed nonetheless.

Theme- Nice and light, the forest is dark and spooky, the house is cozy.

Engagement- The game is short and sweet. Good job!

The game over all is so fun. The time and care to creating this game was definitely put into it. The artwork is amazing and the game is easy to follow and play. The flash light aspect was great for the game because it gives great ambience for the woods theme. The only thing is fix the jump a little for some jumps I go to high and miss the platform a little.

The art style of this is stunning - I love all the level and character designs. It has a very mysterious vibe and the music really helps it. I was having an issue where certain platforms wouldn't let me jump for some reason but that was the only technical issue I had. The ending was super cute too it made me feel warm and fuzzy. Awesome job!!

The aesthetic works very well, the theme fills consistent. There are a couple places where the character doesn't seem to jump, not sure if this have to do with ground tags or something else. Also you should make a button to restart when there's a game over. Finally, I wasn't entirely sure when or what was causing the character to lose health so maybe making that a little clearer? Other than that the game was really fun and beautiful! You guys did a great job.

I love the art and styling in this so much! It is very immersive and I love the little details in the animation, it contributes to the mysterious atmosphere. In terms of viability, it is playable. I feel as though the game may benefit from an in depth explanation of controls either in a starter screen or in the description, I was confused at first about how to jump and scale platforms. I really like the inclusion of the lantern and the fact you can toggle it.

I love the characters in this game a lot! Along with the art and level layout. It's a really mysterious game with the lighting, and seeing all the characters camped out at the firepit once you clear the level is adorable. <3
